Meet Tim Louis
Member of Parliament for Kitchener-Conestoga

Meet Tim Louis – Your Member of Parliament for Kitchener-Conestoga
I was first elected in 2019 as your Liberal Member of Parliament for Kitchener-Conestoga and I’m proud to serve our community and represent your voice in Ottawa. Whether you’re a long-time resident or new to the area, I’m here to listen and engage with you to make Kitchener-Conestoga an even better place to live, work, and raise a family.
I’ve had the privilege of calling Kitchener-Conestoga home for over 30 years. It’s where my wife Brenda and I have raised our family (including fostering and adopting several rescue dogs).
My family has deep roots here and this community is very important to me.
From Award-Winning Musician to Member of Parliament
Before entering politics, I enjoyed a successful career as an award-winning songwriter and musician. Whether I was performing for the Canadian Forces overseas or touring Canada from coast to coast, I gained a deeper appreciation for the freedoms and values that make us proud to be Canadian.
Back here at home, you may have seen me performing at venues like the Kitchener Blues Festival, The Jazz Room, or the Uptown Waterloo Jazz Festival.
In February 2025, I was honoured to accept the position of Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Canadian Heritage. Arts and Music have been an essential part of my life, and it continues to shape the way I engage with my community and communities across Canada.
Delivering Results for Kitchener-Conestoga
As your Member of Parliament, I’ve been focused on securing investments that directly benefit our community. To date, I’ve secured over $200 million in investments specifically for Kitchener-Conestoga. This funding has helped support local infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic development—all of which contribute to the growth and prosperity of our region.
My Approach to Leadership
I believe that, as Canadians, we have more in common than what divides us. It’s this belief that shapes the way I approach my role as your Member of Parliament. Collaboration and dialogue are key. I work hard to build meaningful conversations across party lines, across levels of government, and across communities.
As your representative, I pride myself on finding common ground with my colleagues to move legislation forward that serves not only Kitchener-Conestoga but all Canadians. Working together is the best way to ensure we continue to build a brighter future for our children and grandchildren.
Looking Ahead
The next federal election is a chance to continue the progress we’ve made in Kitchener-Conestoga. I’m honoured to be your Liberal candidate once again, and I look forward to continuing to work on your behalf. Together, we can make our community even stronger, more resilient, and ready for the future.
Let’s Stay Connected
I’m committed to staying in touch with the people I represent. Your voice matters, and I’m here to listen, support, and advocate on your behalf. Over the years, I’ve heard from many of you, at community events, during my town halls, stakeholder meeting, and through direct conversations. I look forward to hearing more from you and continuing our work together.
